Why don’t we ever get photos with these kinds of posts??????
Kate you poor thing, not fair and most especially not fair in the summer - yesterday had to be one of the more perfect summer days and I feel bad you could not enjoy it. I was in the city with friends last night and a perfect summer night. We sat outside for dinner....and as you know, in New England, that is a rarity!!
Justme....if you do, just hope it disappears as quickly as mine did. By Sunday afternoon, gone, kaput, no more......I keep looking over my shoulder wondering if it is just hanging out waiting to get me again....weird!!
Pablo, you are too funny. But yeah, Kate, you have that handy little camera........share!! ;)
Now I LOVE today’s word........."whatevah" something I tend to say just that way and way too often!!
Yesterday was a perfect summer’s day and I did get some enjoyment out of it as I floated about a foot off the floor. Some medicines are very nice. I had the enjoyment of watching the lad mow the lawn. Now that is true enjoyment. ;)
And thank you, Cassie. Better today.
I am very skeery looking, Pablo. A picture of me would be cruel and unusual punishment. I’m not photogenic on a good day, but now? Yeesh.
But it is improving, I believe. Now instead of awful pain, my face stings and itches. So much itch that I could just scratch the side of my face right off. So I guess that means things are improving.
J, I haven’t had conjunctivitis in ages and ages. I feel sorry for anyone prone to it.
The doctor asked me how often I wash my hands. I told her that I can hardly walk past a sink without sticking my hands under the faucet. I wash my hands often. She suggested that I get some of that hand wash that you apply to dry hands when out and about. It is very effective, she said, and when you’re out in the world touching things that other infectious people have touched, you significantly cut your risks of transferring infection to yourself by using that hand wash—and keeping your hands away from your face.
PARTICULARLY in the grocery store (or farm markets), she said. That is probably one of the best places to catch things. And she said she has been appalled to note how often people stand over produce sneezing or coughing on it or wiping their noses and then handling the produce. Kind of a gross thought.
So wash hands with the dry hand wash when out and about and do wash produce that comes in the house BEFORE you put it away.
Thus ended the out-in-public hygiene lesson. Those are undoubtedly useful tips to turn into habits before a pandemic hits.
I feel for ya! I really do.
This is partly why I’ve been incommunicado…
Infection that lasted, just kept coming back, SINCE March, and maybe as far back as January…
And I’m still not over it.
It was in my nose, throat, ears, and my jaw.
I looked like a mutant chimpmunk for a week of it.
2 oral surgeries, and on antibiotics 3 times - twice for 10 days, and then for 6 weeks straight.
And the antibiotics exacerbated an existing condition, and actually caused another! (Can you say, YOGURT EVERY DAY?)
Definitely finish all your antibiotics. The first 2 10 day courses didn’t even work for me.
And be careful of dizziness w/ sinus/ear infections. I’m still getting intermittant & dangerously surprise visits of vertigo.
Well, I hope we both feel better soon! ;)
Me, too, Chloe. No ear complications yet. But sinus, oh yes. I’m sorry you’ve had to go through all that. Some of these strains of bugs want to really resist antibiotic, don’t they? Whenever I have to take an antibiotic, I immediately start snarfing down yogurt as a precaution.
I’m moving along rather slowly. Feeling about 100 years old and creaky. My fingers even hurt. Just ugghhh.
Awe, ... poor Kate! ... There really are few things as bad a summer cold! You take care.
LOL, remember I use to use that dry hand wash stuff obsessively! So much so my Doctor told me to STOP using it so much, I was a germaphobic LOL!
I’m reminded why that might not be such a bad thing. I’m stocking up. I still feel incredibly lousy, but today it’s the sneezing and watering and gushing nose that’s more normal for a cold. I can deal with that, I think, as long as the rest of the misery gives me a break.

Sorry to hear you are still sick! Oh dear, I catch conjunctivitis if the wind blows just right. I hope I don’t catch it by just reading about it! Ya know like Cyn did, yeash.
