It was interesting

On the home front...this has been an interesting day.

I went to get my mail at the place where I rent a private mailbox and...um...it was gone. Store deserted with a big For Lease sign in the window and another little sign that told us to fetch our mail at the main post office and gave us three addresses where we could secure mailboxes honoring the remainder of our contract. It would appear that they lit out in the dark of night or something. I went to one of the suggested locations and they didn’t know what the heck I was talking about. I’ll try another tomorrow. As of this moment, I no longer have a mailing address (with two tiny trees in transit to the old one). And I’m paid in full through October! Isn’t that just great?

My coffee pot decided to finally die this morning. Fully and completely with the curling smoke effect. I was not in the mood to make a day of securing a fantastic, always dreamed of, does everything but the laundry kind of coffee maker. So I stopped at Lowe’s on the way back from my unsuccessful attempt at getting a new mailbox. I looked over the selection and decided on a DeLonghi with the thermal carafe, timer, automatic shut-off, and a couple of other nice features that I probably don’t need, but will enjoy. Also a pretty inexpensive extended service contract. If the thing springs a leak tomorrow, I’m covered. It makes very good coffee. That’s the important part.

And...while I was there, I looked at the lawn mowers. Just so happened they had a lovely little Black and Decker electric model with easily adjustable wheels so that I can easily mow the high grass after an extended rain and it mulches the grass, too. I liked it and now it’s mine all mine. The best part is.....wait for it....I plugged it in and it STARTED!!! I mowed grass. With my very own lawn mower. I stopped it and went to get a drink of water and when I came back out...it STARTED again!!! I’m so happy.

That almost makes up for the lost mailing address—if I don’t think about it too much.
