Rocketboom

How about something a little lighter today? (Never mind that it’s still raining and cold!)

While listening to NPR this morning I heard a piece about a videolog website called Rocketboom. Each day they offer a 3 minute video about...all sorts of stuff. Their website says: “We cover and create a wide range of information and commentary from top news stories to quirky internet culture. Agenda includes releasing each new clip at 9am EST, Monday through Friday.  With a heavy emphasis on international arts, technology and weblog drama, Rocketboom is presented via online video and widely distributed through RSS.”

I zoomed on over to take a look and it’s kinda cool. I watched four videos and I’ve added it to my favorites now. It’s quirky and fun. And entertaining. (NPR adds the word cheesy—in the nicest possible way, of course). For next to zero dollars, they’re building an empire. Apparently Rocketboom is also available on TiVo, though I haven’t checked that out yet.
