Cider Press Hill

Make it stop already!

It’s way too early in the season to complain about rain (on a daily basis!), but I’m going to anyway. Where is it coming from? Why must we have it all? Aren’t there some other people who need rain? We’d be happy to share. Even rainforests don’t get this much rain.

The grass. That green stuff that’s racing for the sky? It needs to be cut. The lawnmower doesn’t do wet grass. No, it doesn’t. My lawnmower demands supple green grass without rain droplets clinging to every blade. I wonder when that will happen. Not before it reaches my waist, probably.

My gardens? They’re plenty green alright. With weeds. No seeds sprouting, though. In order to have sprouting seeds, one needs to plant some. To plant some, one needs to have a few days without deluges. We’ve gone from frosts to deluges.

And shall I mention the green slime that’s already growing on the deck floor? It’s too early for that, but we have it anyway. Nothing is drying out.

This must stop or I will go stark raving mad. There is more truth than drama to that statement. Make It Stop!! Pleeeeeeeze!!!  rain  yuck
