It’s been a tradition here for many years, apparently. At least back to the 70s. I don’t know when it started, though. It’s cool. My school certainly didn’t have a prank day set aside for us, either. The mere thought would have sent the administration into palpitations.
Oh yes, at least the seventies. They have tamed them over the years thankfully. I remember that half my brother’s class was almost arrested lol! Dang I wish I could have seen it! And if I remember correctly, senior skip day use to be the day after. I guess so no one involved would be there to get questioned lol. But they did tame down a bit by the time I went in the 80’s. Part of the prank for the class of 7* involved a bomb of some sort, in the heating system. I can’t remember what it was called. It was a pretty powerful kind of smoke bomb I think. And my wonderful brother, father of three now, was the guilty party. I never lived it down while I was there. Everyone always asked me what I was going to come up with!
The * is because I don’t think it would be very nice to put the year lol.
Tradition is a wonderful thing!
I had to stop up at the school late yesterday afternoon to drop off a check for the year book and the vice principal was outside taking down banners and other decorations. He looked like he’d had a very long day. The poor man’s body language just screamed exhaustion. But he was smiling. ;)

I don’t remember even having a Senior prank day! I wonder when that tradition began.
