where the heck are you? I’ve been pretty much offline since last week for a variety of reasons, tonight I decide to catch up with old friends and nobody’s home!! Are you on jury duty this week? I remember you mentioning it a while back. The husband of a friend is, went today, was dismissed around 2 but will be on for the next two days.......
Hope everything is ok.........
Are you still stacking, or did what you stacked collapse on you? ;)
If I didn’t know that the lad would be most hungry by now and looking for you for food, I would be over there looking for you under that pile of wood! Give us a peek at what you have been working on at least! Yeash.
Hey you guys, don’t worry. I’m fine. Toldja I was going to take a few days off to recharge. I have enjoyed it, too.
But, let’s just say that stacking wood isn’t my favorite job.
The new blog skin is mostly finished now. It’s not what I had in mind at all. I was thinking along the lines of spring colors and something pretty. Instead, the thing sort of had a mind of its own and turned out with lots and lots of white space and black and—don’t faint—a little red. Kind of retro simple with a newspaper feel and not a drop shadow in sight. Can’t seem to get away from that red, can I? But it’s clean and crisp and I like it, even if it’s not what I had in mind. I learned a few new things, too.
Meanwhile, I’ve also upgraded FireFox and it killed about half my extensions, calendar and spell checker included. That took time to fix. Especially the spell checker. It had to be done manually and the directions were somewhere between ‘there weren’t any’ to ‘clear as mud’.
Next up, I want to upgrade Expression Engine. Keep your fingers crossed that I don’t blow something up. ;)
After that...I’ll start posting again.
Well the little flag wasn’t what I had in mind of the sneak peek lol! (but it is cool) I wish I didn’t upgrade firefox. I miss spellbound. I’ll be damned if I could figure out how to get it installed! I wish the person would hurry up and make it easy like the old one was to install!! Can’t wait to see the new skin!!!
Patience, m’girl. I’m getting there. The little flag is one of the new features on ExpressionEngine. I’m just getting acquainted with some of the new things it can do. What a beautiful CMS.
If I’d realized what I’d lose when I upgraded FireFox, I might have thought twice. But as long as I was able to recover my calendar and spellchecker, that made it all better. Some of the newer extensions are amazing. Especially the one called Tab Mix Plus. Man, if you can’t live without using tabs, this extension gives them all kinds of flexibility. You can drag ‘em around to reorder them, rename them, add a little close button on each, freeze them, lock individual ones, recover ones you’ve closed, and even recover all tabs that were opened just before a crash. And I especially like being able to merge windows—really useful when opening links from a Haloscan popup window.
ah, what? LOL. You sound so excited about it so it must be a good, fun, and handy thing! I haven’t gotten into the tabs thing. And you know patience is not one of my strong points lol.
What a nice afternoon it is out there today! I wish I had a nice deck to sit outside and enjoy it, sigh. We are getting that deck of yours done early this year! I want to enjoy lots of warm summer nights on it with you, and of course some fine wines. We didn’t get to do that last year. But that was my fault. Gotta get over myself this year and get a life LOL.
Ha, my word is evening!
The lad dislikes tabs as much as I like them, too. Can’t interest him in them at all. I couldn’t manage without my tabs. With 8 or 9 pages open simultaneously, it makes managing them so easy. And takes up a lot less memory.

Looks like hard work. I’m going to stay away from this post.
