Hairy, scary bloggers
WASHINGTON—The government concluded its “Cyber Storm” wargame Friday, its biggest-ever exercise to test how it would respond to devastating attacks over the Internet from anti-globalization activists, underground hackers and bloggers.
Bloggers?
Participants confirmed parts of the worldwide simulation challenged government officials and industry executives to respond to deliberate misinformation campaigns and activist calls by Internet bloggers, online diarists whose “Web logs” include political rantings and musings about current events.
Well, let that sink in for a few minutes, willya?
Is it now official that online activist bloggers—by which I’m pretty sure they don’t mean conservative bloggers like Glenn Reynolds or the Pajamas Media crew—are naturally assumed to be extremists and the government must devise strategies to respond to their devastating attacks? Perhaps shutting down activist calls for organized dissent? There’s a new idea, huh? (See post below)
We still do have a first amendment, don’t we? On that ratty old piece of worthless paper?
