Yay Steelers!

The lad and I went to a Super Bowl party tonight. It’s an annual gathering. I love the people and we tend to talk computers when we aren’t noshing on BBQed ribs and watching the game. Although the best parts of the Super Bowl are the ads.

Anyway, this year’s best conversational feature was the guy who lives for Linux. After several of us expressed our disgust for Windows and its vulnerabilities, he recommended the operating system called Linux Ubuntu. It’s the Linux for Human Beings—which is to say it’s easy to install and use. Really, really easy. It’s an open source program, free, secure, stable, and looks pretty nice.

I think I’ll partition my hard drive and install it.

I love our Super Bowl party people.

Oh, we also decided that if Mick Jagger can look and act as good as he does at his age, there is ample hope for the rest of us. Man, he’s in good shape.

I think Mick learned his lesson.  I seem to remember reading he’s quite the workout fiend and healthy eater (now).

I did wonder if Ron Wood had ever played “Satisfaction” on stage with the group before, since I’m pretty sure it was way off the playlist by the time he joined up.

There comes a time when a person realizes s/he isn’t immortal and s/he’s gotta take care of what s/he’s got. smile It was great to see him in such good shape.

Some of the lyrics were slightly modified, too, weren’t they? Rolling Stones and Super Bowl halftime just don’t seem to go together....
