It’s still cold today, too. Winter is back. Those 45+ degree days were growing on me. The constant rain, however, is a pain. We’re working on becoming the new rainforest, I swear.
A new furnace with 12% reduction in fuel usage is pretty nice, Cyn. Every bit helps. My new gas bill was an outrage. I used the furnace maybe five days out of the month and my bill was still $80. It’s an old boiler, but everything else was replaced last year, which was supposed to boost the energy efficiency. It’s just nuts. And my hot water tank is new and supposedly energy efficient, too. Not to mention turning the water temperature down to just warm enough to prevent shrieks of shock in the shower. It’s one thing to pay through the nose for high energy use, but when you’re hardly using any it’s infuriating to still pay through the nose for it.

it WAS cold today, that wind was bitter and went right through you. I had to be out a lot today and when I came home, you know the first place I went was to the thermostat!! BTW--new furnace, so far anyway, has shown a 12% reduction in therms used......doesn’t equal lower costs because of the massive increases, but at least we are seeing some improvement!
