Yes, I am a little squeamish about introducing bugs into the house. Mainly the termite variety. I’ve seen a few termites on freshly delivered wood in the past. After a couple of hard freezes, they’re dead and gone outside. It would be awfully convenient to have a ready supply that didn’t involve slogging through snow and ice in order to get it, though.
Sorry I haven’t called. It has been crazy here the past couple of days! The kids are going to my brothers for a few days so I should make it over sooner or later lol. I will give you a call today so we can figure out what day is good for you, promise! I kinda hope its chilly for the next few days so I can get my fill of the nice burning wood stove! I love me some wood burning. But you know that already

We had some neighbors here in suburbia who had a load of wood delivered, and they promptly moved all of it into neat stacks in their basement. (They had two big boys to help them.) They claimed that this made the wood dry out faster, and in any case, it kept the wood out of the weather. I suppose if you’re fastidious about bugs, that might be a working plan. We don’t have enuf fires to need to keep our wood dry (and we can always go fetch more), but it might be something to consider.
