shoot. I heard snow on Friday, but not how much. When the freak is it suppose to start? Guess I will turn on the news in a bit. but maybe I should go to the store first lol. I don’t have a slice of bread in the house. I was planning on leftovers tonight and shop tomorrow, Pffffft. bleh.
Hm. Let’s see. The Central Ohio Effect (as I like to call it) means that the public reaction to the snow is equivalent to 5x the actual snow received.
1/4 inch = 1.5 inches.
6 inches = 30 inches.
I have a feeling driving to work tomorrow is going to be a fun time. Oy.
(Grew up in Cleveland.)
Your storm Pablo is supposed to meet up with a low forming off the coast and then we’ll have a nice big nor’easter. Thank you kindly for your contribution. The lad is still very hopeful and would think it very unfair if Kansas/Missouri gets more than we do.
Yeah, I admit it. I love the first coupla of snow storms, too.
LOL Dave. The Central Ohio Effect is how I felt when I first moved here. Back in Syracuse we got in excess of 181 inches of snow each winter. Good old lake effect snow that just doesn’t quit. Something like 58 inches or less is the norm here, or at least it used to be. And yet people talked about all the snow they got and I laughed. Until the first nor’easter hit. Holy smokes. My first nor’easter dumped two plus feet on us and I never snickered again.
J - Get Bread! Ward off a blizzard now!
Funny thing about Terry. She senses weather changes. She’s very uneasy today. I’ve let her out any number of times and she stands around sniffing the air.
I’ve let up on her water today so that she doesn’t have to “go” as often. Because once the snow starts, I’ll have to literally pick her up and carry her over the threshhold. She doesn’t like it when snow falls. But, after the snow is finished falling, she can’t wait to get out and play in it. She loves tearing around in the fresh snow and scooping big gobs of it up with her nose.
Otherwise...she’s doing pretty well. She’s getting used to being the only dog and has discovered there are many perks. She’s more spoiled than ever and soaking up every minute of it.
There are many things I’d love to see, and high on my list would be my bouncy Tigger-dog trying to figure snow out. The beagle we had in Virginia 40 years ago loved the stuff, even though she disappeared/reappeared while moving around in it.
Peeps tried snow a couple of times, but he was too small to handle anything more than 6 inches. He wasn’t sure he liked it, but thought he should because Terry did. He enjoyed eating it, though.
It’s fun to watch dogs playing in the snow. I wonder if Tigger would like it. Has she ever really experienced cold before? If she could get past the cold feet part, I’ll bet she’d have a blast.
She’s an Oahu, Hawai’i born-and-bred pooch; cold ain’t in her vocabulary. (I make the island distinction because if we lived on the Big Island she could go to Mauna Kea or Mauna Loa.)

Out here in Kansas City we got dumped on. Up to 12 inches in some places (including my house). Just about every institution is closed today (except the children’s hospital where I work). If the storm has enuf strength and moisture left by the time it reaches y’all, maybe you’ll have an extra helper about the house tomorrow.
Also, how is Terry doing?
