Anne is quickly approaching 65, so I suppose she’ll have to get over it quickly if she’s going to and still write non-saved books. I won’t hold my breath, though. She seems happy with her faith. And I imagine it has a lot to do with facing her own mortality and having buried her husband sometime in the past couple of years.
Her books aren’t what I’d call high literature, but they are fun vacation reads. Whenever I bought one (about twice a year, since I first came to her books later in her career), I’d target a vacation book day during which I’d get the dogs/cats fed and make a pot of coffee before crawling back into bed where I’d stay all day reading her page turner until I was finished. That is a perfect vacation day.
Amazing how when one becomes ‘saved’ how many others around them become doomed…
Happy Rohatsu, by the way.
(And my captcha word is ‘Caligula’. Oh boy...)
Happy Rohatsu back atcha. May we all reach realization.
You know, when the question used to come up—if you could bring back any person from any time period, who would it be?—I used to come up with a bunch of different names, but the list never included Jesus. Now, I think I’d put him at the head of the list. Because I’d really like to know what he thinks about the things that have been done and are being done in his name. I think he’d be shocked nearly senseless. The second person on my list would be Paul because I’d like to smack him senseless. My deep thought for the day.

Remember when Bob Dylan had his Xtian conversion and released a couple of saved albums? He doesn’t talk about that part of his life anymore. Anne Rice was never on my radar, so I don’t suppose I’ll miss anything.
