Mama Bar's skirts

The matriarchal Barbara Bush is apparently mad at Dick Cheney and wants to carve him up in little pieces. He and his coterie are the reason her sweet son is having so much trouble. She’s allegedly about to go on the attack.

Well, that could be lively entertainment during the dark days of winter. I’d like to see Bar and Cheney square off. No bets on who’d emerge victorious, but it would be dirty. Maybe she’ll do it privately. Or not.

Trouble is, for a president with already lousy polling numbers, having his mama go to battle for him should be kind of embarrassing. If not for him, it should be for the rest of us. Bad enough that he’s a lousy president, but do we really need his mama taking after the Vice President because he was mean to her baby? I mean, I sympathize with a mother’s protective instincts, but it’s kind of weak for the president to hide behind his mother’s skirts. I’d be inclined to be a secretly proud of the dude if he’d just take a swing at Cheney himself.
