I would avoid opening weekend like the plague, if I were you. I got dragged out the the grand opening of the Frisco, TX store and it was a freaking nightmare! They even had extra temporary cash registers set up and we still had to wait an hour to check out. Ridiculous. You have been warned!!!!
Oh Alan, you’re too sensible. How long d’ya suppose I should wait? I can’t wait that much longer. I’m dyin’ here.
Wallowing, yes that is what I am doing! I commented on the original post so I won’t repeat here lol. But damn I am a happy happy woman at this moment.
Don’t forget the little meatballs.
I don’t think I need to buy anything at IKEA, I’m just going to go for the meatballs.
You are a better woman than I!! Remember when there was to be an IKEA in Somerville, right off of 93 (Arsenol Mall??)? I was so psyched, but then the plans fell through. Anyway, my main reason was bookcases and cupboards and countertops for our family room, too. I gave up though and bought exactly what I wanted and needed at International Furniture Warehouse in Natick! Probably paid a little more than at Ikea and paid a whole lot for delivery and setup, but have had them for a couple of years now. SO, if you don’t find what you want at IKEA, then try there. They will send you a catalogue if you call them.......
I’ve never heard of International Furniture Warehouse. How could this be? I’m not sure that I should hear about them.
I’ve had my eye on the IKEA bookcases for years, actually. I even thought about going to the store in New Haven with a rental truck. Now I’m going to drag my friend with the SUV down to Stoughton. I know I can make bookcases fit in that.
Well, I’m not an IKEA veteran, so I don’t know how long you should wait before things turn normal at a new store. I do remember there were quite a few disgruntled shoppers at the grand opening because they had sold out of so much stuff; however, I do remember our newspaper included the whole IKEA catalog a couple of Sundays before the store opened, so maybe that would help some.
Everybody said the meatballs were great, but, again, the line at the cafeteria was just unbearable, so I didn’t try them. But, I believe they also sell them at the store to take home.
Here you go: Apparently, it is actually in Framingham--who knew!!

IKEA in Stoughton, Trader Joe’s in Peabody ... am I allowed to use the phrase “pig in shit” here?
