Senior Portrait

It came to my attention, last night, that we needed a camera ready glossy Senior Portrait for the school year book by tomorrow. Fortunately, being close to a couple of different urban areas, that didn’t pose too much of a challenge. I asked around this morning to see what a couple of other parents did for pictures. I was glad to hear that a particular Sears store had been the most recommended choice after the official school photographer’s studio really screwed up a number of senior portraits. That didn’t surprise me—I’d stopped getting school portraits from them a few years ago. They did a terrible job. I called Sears to make an appointment and off we went. We were a half hour early, the store wasn’t busy, so we were ushered right in.

Digital photography is the greatest. The photographer snapped pictures and we tried different backgrounds until we had three portraits we really liked. One was for the yearbook and the other two were for family members. We ended up walking out of the store, less than an hour after we arrived, with the glossy camera ready picture for the yearbook. The other two portraits will be printed up on textured photographic paper, ready sometime in the next week. Fantastic. The lad’s Senior Portrait turned out so well. The other two are just as fine. I’m very impressed with the Sears studio.

And while we were at the mall, the lad stopped into the Macintosh store to get something called an iTrip for his iPod. He just wandered into my room with the portable bathroom radio and suddenly his iPod tunes started coming through the radio. Man, isn’t technology great? What a great gadget! Ever since walking out of the Mac store, I’ve been wiping a constant dribble of drool out of the corners of my mouth. I want me a Mac! And a few Mac toys....
