Cider Press Hill

Overlooked pics

I’ve been sorting through the gazillions of photographs on my computer today. Many are ones that I scanned from the days of film photography. And, of course, the rest are from the digital age. There are a lot of stories contained in each image. Two of them that I’m fond of are below.

This one is of the lad when he was five years old. Never one to be shy in front of the camera, we decided to take portraits of him for his Grandma for Mother’s Day. He really hammed it up for me and this is one of my all time favorites. His Grandma loved it, too. I miss those days.

Here we have a digital photograph of a lovely lady who spent a season by my current house dining on whatever might fly into her web. She spent hours, everyday, repairing her web after the damage her meals caused when they got caught in her web. I thought she was a beautiful creature. She was a Garden Spider (Araneus diadematus) and she wove a circular (orb) web.
