SATs again

The lad is up at school taking the SATs again. He’s trying to raise his scores about 100 points. I think if he relaxes a little bit and paces himself, he can do it. But he’s a crummy test taker. Still, he’s taken the test twice and raised his scores a lot the second go round. I’m not convinced that he needs to worry so much about them. The scores aren’t bad as they are now and he has a couple of glowing recommendations along with great grades and a lot of extracurricular, community, and leadership activities. I begin to think the SAT thing is a real racket. We’ll both be glad when this phase is finished. The next phase involves the college essay torture.
