If we lived a little closer, I’d take you up on that offer, Pablo. I’m even good with a chainsaw. Not too sure about splitting, though.
Splitting is easy. All you need is a sledge, a wedge, and a young adult to make it go. Bring the lad!
Actually, I am beginning to worry that with fuel prices going up, I’m going to find someone has visited my woods in my absence to help himself to some firewood. I’m way back, so does that mean people are less likely to hit my forest or more?
Heck I used to be a pro at the splitting thing. I started in 5th grade. A close friends father would pay us 20 bucks or so to do it for him. After the first year of hand splitting it we convinced him we would be more productive if he rented us a splitter lol. And he did. So much easier lol.
So Kate, if you cut I will split. I could just see us now
LOL! I think the splitter would be the way to go. I have no confidence that I’d actually be able to hit a wedge with a sledgehammer. I might be dangerous.
Pablo, if Roundrock is way out there and hidden, that would probably be too off the beaten path for most wood poachers. At least I hope so. That would be awful to discover someone had been chopping down your woods.

You’re welcome to come out to Roundrock and cut all of the firewood you need.
