So far he has visited Emerson, BU, Holy Cross, Northeastern, Bowdoin, Ohio Wesleyan, Ithaca College, and University of Vermont. So far, he has really liked Holy Cross and UVM. Hated BU. The rest are eh.
Can’t interest him in Harvard which is probably just as well. He has a 3.86 grade point average going into this year, but his SATs are a little too low for Harvard or, probably, Dartmouth. I’m not sure those colleges would look at him with less than a 4.0 these days with his SATs. That’s the advice he’s getting from a college coach, anyway. I don’t think he should necessarily limit himself—doesn’t hurt to apply. The worst they’ll do is decline him. He could be surprised.

Does The Lad have particular schools in mind for his post-high school education? The application process must already be weighing on your collective minds. If he’s interested in Dartmouth, I’d be pleased to put in a good word (not that I have any appreciable pull). And a classmate (and friend) of mine is Dean of Arts and Sciences at Harvard.
If you don’t want to name names in public, a private note would do.
