... Aaaah, .. the Fly Lady, yes I know here well!
I DO subscribe to the *shiny sink* theory… great stuff!
Well, yes, that’s true, Pablo. If I got any east-er, I’d fall into the ocean. Which would probably strike at least one person I know as a really good idea.
Yep, Lynn. Life has not been the same since I discovered Fly Lady.I’ve had a shiny sink every day for several months now. It is amazing...once the kitchen sink is shiny, it seems to spread outward from there.
I don’t think the shiny sink thing will work with the lad, but I do think the 5 Minute Room Rescue and the Hot Spot Fire Prevention techniques will go a long way toward keeping his life, belongings, and space in order. We will be working on that for the next little while until it becomes habit.
Ugh, that FlyLady thing is definitely not going on my blogroll or bookmark list.
heehee......I read about Fly Lady here (I think) several months ago and immediately went and signed up. Unfortunately one of the first tips was all about procrastination and I kept putting off reading it and the endless emails that kept coming and coming and...O saved them all and then one day realized I had HUNDREDS saved so decided unless I really was serious about it and went back and practiced the tips on procrastination, I should take my name off the list......which I did!
LOL! Well, yeah, N. You have a system that works very well for you. I don’t think the Fly Lady method would suit you at all.
I kept a month’s worth of Fly Lady emails, Cyn. Then unsubscribed. They pretty much repeat themselves after that. I just printed them out and started doing the steps. Some I left out, using the ones that made the most sense to our lifestyle and household. It has made a big difference.
Now I just need to prove to the lad that 5 minutes a day is really long enough to put your stuff away and go to bed with a clean space. No need for stuff to pile up and pile up and pile up. Maybe after the marathon today, he’ll be more open to the five minute pick-up before bed. Sure beats the heck out what he went through today...and will still be going through tomorrow.
