Cider Press Hill

Truckloads of dirt

The neighbors on the hill must have come into some serious money or something. Besides reconstructing their entire house, there was a huge Caterpillar machine up there and a stream of dump trucks unloading dirt/topsoil/whatever, this afternoon. True to his expressed plans, he’s building up the edge of the hill and extending his property out by a couple of feet. So far. I don’t know what else this project will turn into, but there is a pretty sheer drop off at the edge of his property now. It should be interesting when the next heavy rain begins. I’ll try to take a picture tomorrow. It’s hard to explain without a picture. I’m not so thrilled with the way things look, but maybe it’ll turn out okay when he’s all done with whatever he’s doing. I just have a feeling that the water runoff situation is going to be a little different and a little more directed toward my back yard now. We’ll see.
