Furnace fixing day

Today is fix the furnace day and the timing is perfect. I used the last piece of dry wood last night. I’m so excited! Finally, heat on demand. Instant gratification with the mere flick of a wrist. I am really, really, really tired of feeding the wood stove twenty zillion times a day. The pain of writing the repairs check will be much mitigated by that fact.

As I write, the service guy is running in and out of the house dragging his supplies in. Terry thinks it’s a holiday because she gets to sleep on my bed while the repairs take place. She had to be vacated from downstairs. Peeps is busy inspecting the cat box in the bathroom. I suspect that will keep him occupied for a while. I’m not even going to argue with him about it. That’s a pretty good indicator of a really good mood in full swing.

I’m so ready to try out the thermostat in a few hours. Except...it’s kind of warm out today. It’s already 40° with the mercury headed toward 51° by mid-morning.  So maybe I won’t need to try out the fixed furnace until tonight. But that’s fine, too. Just as long as I can, when I want to.
