Yup, snow is pretty in the right amount, especially with blue skies and sunshine. 5 inches just sort of warrants a resigned shrug and sigh here. It takes a good foot, combined with blizzard conditions, to warrant a snow day for our kids. If they do get a rare day off school, it’s usually more down to the temperature and windchill combination, but even that has to be extremely drastic. I think that in all of Stephanie’s years at school there have been maybe two days when school was cancelled here in the city. Country kids fare a little better in that regard, for obvious reasons.
We’re getting a thaw here today. Not a dramatic one, but enough to warm the cockles of our frozen beings. The sun is shining brightly, the eaves are dripping, and all’s right with the world.
Winter isn’t done with us yet, but these signs of hope are most welcome at this time of year!
