Punxsutawney Phil doesn’t agree with you.
BTW, I didn’t have to look up the spelling of Punx’y.
Bet Phil Connors didn’t have to, either.
So are you going to take the word of a sleepy rodent over a boisterous bunch of robins who flew a long way to prove the rodent wrong?
Unless, of course, they wintered over as Steph suggested. But I haven’t seen them before today. No, no, no...they have to be spring arrivals. It gives me hope because I’m liking winter less this week than last week. If that’s possible.
They followed me. They figured if I could handle it they could! But, oh so wrong they were.
Considering it’s going to get up to the 50’s this weekend, in Ohio of all places, I’m wondering if Philly saw his shadow, or if it was camera glare from the Philly Paparazzi.
Then again, this IS Ohio. If you don’t like the weather, wait a minute.
From now through next Thursday, at least, we are supposed to be in the low to mid-40s. That’s almost spring. It’s GREAT! Eying my dwindling woodpile, I’m desperately hoping for early spring! The last time I put wood in the stove was around 11:00 last night. I still haven’t fed it this morning and the house temp is still around 71 degrees. And another whole week of this...which takes us to mid-February! Oh, I like this. I really do.
Jennifer, maybe you did bring the robins and the warmth out with you. I know you aren’t acclimated yet, but you have to admit that 40 degrees is a whole different world than the 5 degrees you arrived to.

it could be some winter robins we used to have a few in Concord some winters, though I like the idea that maybe they know something we don’t and have returned early. Last year I saw my first robin in late March.
