Barefoot Windjammer

At this moment, with the outside thermometer registering a frigid 2°, this is where I want to be and what I want to do! I think it was about 12 years ago that I did this and I heartily recommend it. This was my itinerary. I’d love to do it again.

Well, at least thinking about it makes what’s going on outside seem a little farther away. She says with the wood stove cranked full tilt and a scarf around her neck....

At least the sun is shining today. That helps. A little.

Wind chill advisory remains in effect until 10 AM EST this morning

Dangerously cold wind chills this morning

A bitterly cold airmass has invaded the region. Northwest winds between 15 and 25 mph, combined with temperatures between 0 and 5 above will result in dangerously cold wind chills. Wind chill readings will range from 15 to 24 degrees below zero this morning.

Frostbite can occur in minutes with these wind chills. Therefore, if you have to be outside dress in layers. Hats, ear muffs, scarves and gloves are highly recommended.

Um, could you all please stop telling me how cold it has become back there all of a sudden, please! Mo is going out to LL Bean to get the kids some warm clothing today. What the heck happened to your unusually warm weather? I am moving back there that is what happened. Gawd, I don’t think I can do this :-S

You remember....we get two months of pre-winter slush and ick before the deep freeze sets in. You couldn’t have timed it any better. Winter has arrived. Well, for this week, anyway. February is a whole ‘nother world of woe.
