Heh. Things are easy once you know what you’re doing.
Well, using Firefox it’s still funky. The posts are blow what used to be the left sidebar, and this box is slightly off-kilter to the left and overlaid by the screen edges.
Well, now. After hitting “post” for that comment everything moved back to where it was before the upgrade.
Ah. I’ll bet hitting “post” forced my screen to refresh and dump the cached copy of the page. I need to reduce the number of pages in the cache, I think.
Naw, I was tinkering with a recalcitrant plug-in and I left out a div. Fixed it before you got to refresh your page. Did I already say that upgrades scare me??
Ah, is that why there are so many new control panel themes? Smiley’s are not working in mine. Everything else is ok though!
Aren’t those control panel themes cool? I love having the extra flavors! There are more things to do and discover, too. Once I get them installed and working. This version of EE is beeyootiful!
Unfortunately, when I made back-up copies of a variety of things, the emoticon page wasn’t one of them. So I’ll have to start from scratch and figure out what all those little images were named before I can rewrite it. I wasn’t too happy when I realized that, either. I’ll try to get the smileys straightened around some time today.
Smiley test....
:shut:
:coolhmm: :cloud:

Ya well I’m a little gun shy to mess around, with fear that I could mess things up! Oh and not to be picky here but, how come I have apple blossoms for my skin, and then when I go to comments its blue linen?
I don’t know, she says with a wail. Try refreshing the page? A few times? I’ll see if I can find anything wrong.
When I hit the smileys link, I’m boosted to the top of the page. (Using Firefox).
Not sure why that would happen.
But you know, I think I never used the smileys before. I just had a hankering to see what was available. (ie: the above bumbershoot smiley means nothing) hehe.
I have the upgrade but I’m afraid to install it...funny thing being afraid and all...it’s not like I’m a web developer or anything...not like that at all...except I am...is there a shame-in-the-face smilely for me?
:-S
What is a kissing ball?
Chloe - it was a bad java script. The smiley box should just open and leave you where you were on the page now.
Karan—I downloaded the upgrade about 3 weeks ago and kept putting it off. Then had to download a few other things Saturday because there some updates to the release. If you’ve had yours sitting around for that long, you’ll probably want to do the same. Upgrading is sort of daunting. I blew up my site with an upgrade once—I overlooked one of the steps involved—and that makes one a little hesitant forever after. Just be sure to back-up any customizations you’ve made since your last install.
Oh, a kissing ball is just a round ball of styrofoam covered with same length branches of evergreen with some wispy ribbons hanging off the bottom, a couple of pretty bows on top, and a long loop of ribbon with which to hang it.
Beats me why it’s called a kissing ball.
ok my problem fixed! I had to click on apple blossoms while in comments, it bounced me back to the main page, and when I hit comments again it was fixed!
Cookie confusion. You refreshed the cookies and now it works. Whew!

Everything seemed to go okay except that the upgrade killed my style sheets. Doing something funky with the coding, anyway. I’m a little bit stumped…
