After Thanksgiving, sometime before Christmas Eve. Now? No, I haven’t seen any here (except in the stores).
Have a great weekend.
Santa Claus is sitting on the roof of this place. Probably about the 30th year, too.
I think my neighborhood just likes to get a good head start. There were Halloween decorations up in mid-September, too. I’m going to be so sick of looking at Christmas decorations by Christmas that I will be the first one to drag the tree out to the curb this year. I must be having my pre-holiday humbugs.
Karan...I would be the last person to say a word. As I recall, Jennifer AKA Me was the one who came over to my house one fine day in April, a few years ago, and demanded that I take down the stupid Christmas tree. Or was it in May? First fake tree ever and about the last time I ever used it. Much less bother to drag a cut tree out of the house, I discovered.
I hadn’t put up a tree in a few years.
But I love christmas lights.
I put up my tree a week ago.
This is BY FAR the earliest I’ve ever put up a tree.
The reason being that a week ago I had to go to my uncle’s house to pick up my snow tires, and he suggested getting my tree stuff at the same time.
That night, my friend was visiting from out of town, and she wanted to go to a store to buy a new 6ft tree for her new house. So I wound up picking up new sets of lights (I didn’t have any for the past few years).
So after we went out to dinner, we weren’t interested in a movie, so we came back to my place and she helped me put it up, since we had nothing else to do, and it’s always nicer to put up a tree not alone.
Yes, I feel the need to completely and totally explain why my tree is up so early!
I always wait until after thanksgiving. But you know this already. It usually goes up just before the 12th of December because Katie loves to have a Christmas birthday theme. And by the 6th of January I am sooooo ready to get it all out of the way.
I haven’t seen any houses decorated yet out here. Though there is this house on the way to Ed’s doctors that has icicle lights up year round!
And um, it was May
Okay, Jennifer. May. At least it wasn’t July, though if remember correctly, I was thinking about using it for 4th of July decorations. ;)
LOL Chloe. I’m just having my pre-Christmas humbug thing. It’s as predictable as sunrise. But I love Christmas lights and trees and the sparklies. I was thinking just yesterday about where to put the tree and standing back to envision it. Probably the second weekend in December.
In years past, I’ve had my ficus tree decorated with little white lights all year around. It’s pretty and makes a room feel instantly warmer.
It’s those outdoor inflatable decorations that mar the mood for me. A couple of them on a street is fine, but nearly everyone here is buying them and planting them in the front yard. It’s so...unimaginative and commercial looking.
And tacky if you ask me! Never ever would you see anything like that in my yard! “shivers” I am traditional when it comes to decorating for Christmas. Greens, wreaths, white lights etc..
I remember the comment about the 4th LOL!
Half of my neighbors have their decorations up already.
My granddaughter’s birthday is December 4th, so we put up the tree about that time.

Are you asking if we have this year’s decorations up yet or last year’s down because for some folks (no not me, nope, no way) that’s an important distinction.
