Being Redundant

While searching for an answer to my grammar question from a couple of posts ago, I ran across a Grammar and style guide by Laurent Grenier. I didn’t find the answer to my question, but it was enjoyable reading anyway. One of the sections covered redundancies that English speakers and writers get into the habit of committing and I think that I’ve committed every single one. They seem to become ingrained in speech patterns and thinking. Maybe now I’ll be more aware, but I won’t discount the probability that a couple will still sneak through.

close proximity
definite decision

excess verbiage
