And I’m inclined to say, “And this would be new, how?” There are advantages to being a Yankees fan, y’know?
I’m no Giants fan (ha! An understatement!), but there was an earthquake in 1989 which stopped W.S. play for about a week, as I recall. I think that was before Game Two.
Last night was just awful weather. But this morning the air is fresh, the sky is a deep blue, and the sun is warm. It’s just not fair. So why can’t we have a game tonight?
A large earthquake is a perfectly logical reason to postpone a series for a week. A rainstorm that’s already long gone is *not* a logical reason to postpone a baseball game for 3 days! Fercryinoutloud!
Especially when the weather forecast says that Saturday and Sunday are the last nice days we’re supposed to get until Wednesday. Monday is supposed to be rainy. We’re talking about the northeast here. We don’t wait around for a deeper shade of blue! If it’s not raining it’s good enough.
You’re implicitly bringing up the larger issue of the baseball season being extended for crass commercial reasons. The World Serious used to end by about the 8th of October up until 1995 or so, before all these newfangled “division series” and such.
[/crotchety rumble]
Well, I didn’t mean to.
But it wouldn’t break my heart if the series was over by now. At least the Red Sox fans would already know whether their hearts were going to be broken for another year.

I think it’s someone up stairs trying to prolong Redsox fans pain LOL!
