I think they found a tributary somewhere along the line. Far right bank of that one.
It’s the middle of the stream on the far right in which we’re about to change horses. (How’s that for a tortured metaphor?)
BTW, I’m sure you saw the review of the Vote for Change tour finale over on The American Street. James Taylor did a whole lot better with the metaphor than I did:
“I hate it when they say you shouldn’t change horses in mid-stream. The horse can’t swim and it’s in way over its head and that horse shouldn’t have crossed the stream in the first place, and there’s a good democratic mule right there. So change that horse. Change it.”
I  James Taylor!
That was an excellent review. Wish I could have been there!
Me too. Seeing Bonnie, Jackson, and Keb’ in the series opener was wonderful and powerful, but the momentum driving toward the finale must have been even better.
I did mention that a gaggle of us are going to see Dan Bern the night before Election Day, didn’t I? I imagine he’ll have a few choice anatomical suggestions for Dubya.

That’s easy. “On the far right bank of the mainstream.”
