I’m with you on the daddy long legs - ewww. I guess it’s those long wispy legs. I can deal with other spiders, but those?
Again, ewww.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a banana spider. I hear they are almost big enough to carry you off. My spider phobia might not be that cured.
Daddy long legs kind of creep me out, too. But the little furry black spiders are drawn to their webs like flies to honey and that earns a few daddy long legs a protected place in a couple of corners. Black furry spiders and I do not share space well at all.
I have a love hate thing with spiders. I like that they seem to need my house to live...I feel like a winter sanctuary. I hate that I don’t know enough about them to not be afraid of the local poisonous spiders. We have one, called the Hobo Spider that is toxic and I can’t differentiate between it and our harmless garden spiders.
I’d never heard of the Hobo Spider, so had to go look it up. I think if I had that one to contend with, it would put me off spiders completely.
I’ve only been bitten by one spider that I can remember. A friend and I passed a rainy afternoon at the local Starbucks and something started itching along the right inside seam of my jeans. It just kept itching so I excused myself to go take a look. Found a tiny squished spider in the seam. I don’t know what kind it was, but the bite itched intensely for a few days and then turned really painful. The entire area by my knee was swollen and sore for a good three weeks. Not much else happened, but that was enough, thank you. I don’t hang out at Starbucks anymore.

aww that was sweet. (I’m not particularly fond of any spiders other than banana spiders)
