Terry has cabin fever. She is driving herself crazy and I’m going right along for the ride with her. This morning I found her bed ripped into a thousand pieces.
She wants to go outside. But it’s cold and she doesn’t like cold. So she goes out and two minutes later wants to come back in. She needs to go outside and run off her excess energy. But there’s too much ice out for her. She’s afraid of ice. Perhaps because she remembers shattering her hind hock on it a couple of years ago. Consequently, she’s bored. Spring can’t come soon enough!
This morning I gave Peeps and Terry chew toys to keep them occupied for a few hours. Peeps’ chew toy is Peeps sized. Terry’s is much larger. But Terry thinks Peeps’ chew toy is much nicer than hers, so she steals it. And Peeps figures that Terry’s must surely be nicer than his, since it’s so much bigger, so he labors over dragging hers into his bed. But he can’t get his mouth around it, so he plots to steal back his. Then Terry figures that maybe she should just take both of them. And Peeps plots to take them both back. At least they are busy.
I finally took a handful of Peeps sized chew toys and dumped them on the floor. That’ll really confuse them.
