Brisk, but sunny

We know that spring has sprung when everyone else in a 20 mile inland radius is crowing about sublime temperatures and we’re wildly envious about it.
According to the weather forecasters, this is supposed to be what we could look forward to today, provided we don’t live within a couple miles of the coast. And it’s what people are enjoying a couple of miles further inland.
But, the seabreezes kicked in and carried all that cold air off the ocean just for us. This is what we got instead. Spring sea breezes keep us chilly. It makes our flowers bloom later and the trees leaf out later than everyone elses.
Well, it’s better than the seeing the thermometer stuck in the low to mid-40s. And there isn’t a cloud in the sky today. That counts for a lot. The sun has really warmed up the inside of the house today. Still, it’ll be a banner day when our mercury can creep above 60°. Maybe by Sunday. Hope, hope!
