Almost over

Tonight is the last night of spring break and the house is full of kids. Most are friends from high school and I hope they remain friends like this well into the future. I expect they’ll carry on for a couple more hours, then it’ll be time to say goodbye until summer vacation—which isn’t all that far away. Just seems like it for the moment.

I miss having a house full of kids already. Unlike Christmas vacation, it’s bothering me a lot more this time.

Tomorrow morning (sometime before noon) we’ll leave for PA and we’re picking up another passenger in Lexington. I hope she’s traveling light because I can’t imagine where we’ll stuff her if she isn’t.

And then it’s the long drive home to a very quiet house.

Kinda sad tonight.
