My guilty pleasure - well ONE of my guilty pleasures is watching American Idol--I do wish it was on any other network than FOX but no one asked me. I have watched since the second or third year and rarely miss an episode. I will tivo my “favorite” shows or watch them ‘on demand’ rather than miss AI. This year, though, is - so far, anyway - not nearly as good. Or maybe like so many things, it has just run it’s course. Part of the problem is the addition of Kara, the elimination of Paula and the addition of Ellen DeGeneres. Ellen is hysterical and the few times I have ever seen her daytime show, I have liked it, but on AI she is just...........well boring. I really like Simon and when his new show debuts next year, I imagine I will be back in the kitchen watching on my television, so I do not annoy the other person in this house.
Does anyone else ever watch any of the reality shows?? When my goddaughter is here (she is from Hawaii, goes to college in Boston) I have to watch, ‘So you think you can dance,’ with her. And then there was the day she had a bad cold, so she curled up on the kitchen window seat with a pillow and blanket and watched an entire day of some reality show about little people--it was very strange and she watched for something like 8 hours straight. I thought I would lose my mind!! Have no idea what it was called or even what channel it was on. She was totally engrossed in it though.............
For those of you who do not know me - which would be everyone - sometimes I do extra work in movies and so on. As such, you have to sign up with casting agencies and everywhere else you can so that the few opportunities that are out there actually reach you. I forget about some of the places I am signed up with and so today I just received this email from one of them..........."Nobody likes cold soup, especially our clients looking for the perfect face for their media project! We noticed you’ve not logged in the last few months and we want to be sure that we are submitting the freshest images and contact info for you. So login soon to verify what is in your profile is up to date. We’ll do the rest. Of course we’ll continue to submit you automatically to every project that matches your look and location! Thanks for partnering with TalentSoup. Have a great week!” I had completely forgotten about TalentSoup as I get almost all of my work through Boston Casting. But I have to tell you that starting out with ‘No one likes cold soup’ may be a great way to get your attention.......or not. I am not totally sure!! It did make me laugh, though.
You will not be subjected to as much of my nonsense and rambling today as I am wicked behind in everything. Train was 25 minutes late and since I am such a nice person, I let my husband sit in the car and wait for it instead of throwing him out and coming home. Note to self: He CAN take his own car and leave it at the station! And then I came in and phone was ringing. Turned out to be a long phone call, so now I am rushing.
They are saying sunshine later today...it would be nice for all of us, but particularly for those poor people who are flooded out of their homes or trapped on their streets. Anyone following this in the news....Rhode Island is basically under water. Check out the pictures of the Warwick Mall, absolutely incredible. The radio station just went down a list of road closings, road detours, etc. that is absolutely unreal and that was just in Massachusetts.
Happy April Fool’s Day!! I am sure I knew once, but I have forgotten now, but what IS April Fool’s Day? Of course I happen to think it is absolutely perfect that Sarah Palin is hosting a new show on FOX tonight that features interviews with various celebrities about overcoming obstacles in their lives. Only thing is, she did not interview these people - in fact some of them did not even know they were going to be on this show. April Fool’s indeed!!

I am trying to sell my home in the Berkshires so thought I would post a link in the hopes that someone might know someone that might know someone else......... This is the house I grew up in, my dad grew up in and my sons spent every vacation in. Originally it was my grandparents’ ‘summer home’ - their winter home was in the booming metropolis of Great Barrington
5 miles away. But when the only way to get around is by horse and buggy. you do what you have to do.
My mom had put it on the market slightly before she passed away this fall as she was moving in with us. It had been sold - or nearly so - to a wonderful woman that we all like and someone who loved this old home as much as we all do but when the market fell apart, so did her investments I guess so that was the end of that.
Feel free to pass this on to anyone who might be interested. I am at the wrong stage of my life where I want to take on a second home and I have absolutely no desire to move back up there permanently.
