Figured that might get your attention! Actually it is me, Cyn, sometimes known as Sister M.M. - I will tell that story someday if Kate doesn’t shut me down!! For today though I am the Blog Truancy Police-person.... You see our mutual friend Kate of Cider Press Hill is, as you will all agree, the Queen Blog Truant. She has been missing in action for a LONG time. Tweeting is her new passion and I think it is time she comes back to blogging.
Anyway, to make a long story shorter (not short, I am incapable of thinking or writing in bullet points), I emailed her to beg her to come back. I miss her thoughtful, insightful take on politics and life and all sorts of things. Then I mentioned that lately especially I have had so much to say and that I was thinking of starting a new blog--wouldn’t be the first time--and she made me an offer I could not refuse. Guest blogging on Cider Press Hill.
So here I am and thank you Kate for giving me a forum to spout my nonsense. If any of you are on Facebook you can check out my page there which is FULL of my nonsense. I tried Twitter but as I said before, I am incapable of thinking in bullet points never mind writing them!!
I am not going to get into anything big right now cause I am just feeling my way through this, but I expect there will be days I will post more than once and some days I will not post at all. Who knows--I think I will just go with the flow and see where it takes me. It is only fair to warn you though that I do not have Kate’s way with words or her ability to be concise and stick to the topic. I am about as random as they come so if you can deal with the way my mind works, we will get along just fine. Many years ago someone who worked for me said she was exhausted from trying to follow my train of thought cause it went round and round and up and down and even though she was learning a lot along the way, she was having trouble keeping up! Sort of like the old song, ‘Locomotion’ - jump up, jump back............;)
So, pour yourself a cup of coffee, or tea, or whatever works for you, sit down, be prepared to laugh (sometimes) as I do have lots of blonde days and I will be sharing some of the less embarrassing ones with you, oh hell, I will probably tell everything; get riled up as I do tend to have definite views on politics and the like; shake your head in amazement that people actually let me out on my own - yeah, I have those kinds of days; and well, just hang out. Maybe the blog truant will hop in and have something to say too.
I want to leave you with a smile today - we will get into the heavy stuff another day or maybe later on today - so will tell you my coffee/tea story. I need my coffee in the morning, cannot survive without it, often say I would be in a coma all day without my coffee/caffeine. SO, I used to have 2-3 cups before I went to work and then would take my to-go cup with me with another 2 cups in it. Milk - has to be 2% or more, no 1% or skim - no sugar - I tell you this in case you ever want to make me a cup!! But someone convinced me that in addition to my coffee, it would not be a bad idea to add green tea. Hmmmm--I am an iced tea drinker, but hot tea? Isn’t that for when you are sick? Apparently not. So I decided I would take green tea to work with me instead of the additional two cups of coffee that did tend to make me a little jumpy (there are those who would say in my case that is a GOOD thing). I tried it as is the first few times and it was like drinking hot water. No flavor. SO, I started leaving the tea bags in my cup, still nothing. Then I added sweet and low. OK sweet hot water. Then I added cinnamon sticks, better. Then lemon. Even better. That is pretty much how I fix it now. Two tea bags, a teaspoon or so of cinnamon or a cinnamon stick, two packages of sweet and low, and a chunk of lemon. Hey, don’t knock it til you try it. And that has been my routine for a long time now. So you are asking yourself where is this going, why would we care and why is she telling us this. Look above, I said RANDOM you were warned! Well, my point is that I add all of this to my green tea so that I feel like I am actually drinking something...............and twice in the last three months or so, I have come home from work, emptied out my travel mug and to my surprise, discovered I never put the tea in. Just been drinking hot water with everything else. Green tea while good for you obviously has NO taste of its own!
It was snowing like hell when I started this; apparently I have been writing so long, the snow has stopped and the sun is coming out. Good. I think I will have my second cup of coffee and then time to fix the tea. Tea bags Cynthia, remember the damn tea bags!!
